Hi Susan,

I wanted to let you know how fortunate I feel to had been in Piper’s life for a few short years. Even though I hadn’t been in touch with her for quite a while, I have many great memories of our time together. I was especially grateful for her willingness to housesit for me during numerous business trips and always knew that my dog, Foster and cat, Roly-Poly were well cared for and loved. I saw the website you created in her memory and your words ring true to her generosity and caring spirit.

Piper had a rare combination of childlike exuberance and wisdom beyond her years unlike anyone I’ve ever known. I loved her laugh, smile, creativity, appreciation of art and music and her ability to connect with and appreciate people of all ages. I also learned a lot from her about how to deal with the many challenges of life and love.

I know that you two had a very special Mother-Daughter connection that any parent or daughter would want and I also know what a positive influence you were on her during her adolescence and adulthood. I appreciate all of the times that I was invited to your home for New Year’s Eve/Rose Bowl Parade parties. You always made me feel like part of the family.

I’m not sure if you would remember, but I believe the last time I spoke with Piper, she was with you and her roommate at a restaurant and I came over to say hello and introduce you to me girlfriend. That would have been 2001 or 2002 in or around Rancho Santa Margarita. I have often thought about Piper over the past few years and wondered how she had been doing. I’d love to know more about her life this past decade if you’d care to share and wouldn’t mind emailing or giving me a call.

Sincerely,

Mike Gellerman
